First week of the  Challenge

Day #1

I posted already about resizing images. (see post below)
He suggests a free software to do this. It works really well!

Did you know that when you re-size an image, you are not making the file size any smaller?

You can with the free software that Chris uses in his training. I can’t say what it is of course… you have to take the course, did I mention that  there is a free membership as well?

Day #2

I’m posting all this for my readers, but also as a help to myself as I take this course. Each day Chris has a  new video and he  assigns homework or as he calls it “skill development”. On Day two he goes over the differences between the types of images and the files sizes.

If you keep images as small as possible, under 100KBs it won’t take so long to load them or download.

Day #3

People from all over the world are taking this course, he names quite a few students from Australia to  England. Chris talks about  what a HTML Editor is and how to get a good free one. It helps to create webpages, or to change them. Homework -is to download software, resize a pic with it.

Day #4

How a website actually works. I actually knew all this, its the basics of what you need to put up a site. I don’t think I’m giving away any secrets here.

You need:

* a domain name
* hosting acount

Using software to make the site -was new to me, I have always used some sort of template hosting such as  Tripod/Lycos etc.
Very cool how he explains you can actually make pages using html. I did not know that. Homework – get your url online.

Day#5

You should have a domain name and a hosting account set up, remember that Chris provides -free hosting when you sign up.
He talks about zipped folders, what they are and how to use them.
Did you know that you must have all items in the same folder? 
Homework – put pages on your site.

Day #6

Learn about FTP. Now I am all ears here! I have always had such problems with this. His video is all step by step with using FTP. I think I even understand it.  Also mentions how to move images from one folder to another, something I also did not know how to do.Homework create an extra page using html.

Day #7

Video concerning “NameServers”, what they are, why you need them and where to change them.  More on Domain name.

Quite a first week!  All of this happens in Chris’s forum, the videos and the training as well as comments from the students on how they are doing.

Hi. I have joined (the english man in Beverly Hills), Chris Farrel and his FREE membership. I feel very forunate at having found this site. I joined for free, and then joined his membership for learning marketing online.

As he has FREE hosting with the membership, I have moved three of my blogs to his hosting.  Very easy to do so, with no problems!

Currently he has an  Accountability Training Challenge going on in his forums. I will be posting from time to time with how I’m doing.  So far so good.

I’m on Day 2 of the Month long training.  Learned all about file sizes of images. Did you know that if you have a pic that is over 100 KB’s that will take to long to load or to download if you have it in an e-book? I didn’t.

 1000 Kilobytes= 1 Megabyte.   1000 Megabyes = 1 Gigabyte.

Every time I post something to my websites or blogs I twitter it.

Sometimes its done for me with the systems I have set up and I don’t even have to do it manually.

What I’ve found is that this is driving traffic to my site, boosting the downloads of my free eBooks, and adding subscribers to my list. It’s soooo easy, costs absolutely nothing, and it seems to work. My subscribers list is growing as my Twitter followers grow.
