October 1st Opening of Newbie Freedom Training Site

I have written a little 4 page report that outlines the basics of this course that I am offering. It is primarily aimed at Newbies, though some intermediate people might also find it of interest.

As it covers quite a lot of material and runs for 20 weeks I will have to limit the amount of people taking the course. We will also break into mastermind groups to discuss the material in different levels of knowledge. It is hoped to offer a weekly group session online with a webinar or chat room.

 What are Affliate programs?

They are programs that share revenue arrangements with merchants who pay webmasters commissions for sending them customers.

YOU are paid a commission if the customer  buys a product or service . The most popular type of affiliate programs are the ones you pay for monthly. These are called residual income affiliate programs, a major part of  a good affiliate marketing plan.

You  are paid a certain amount each month for every customer you send to the business, and every  referred person  that remains in their program. The power of these programs with regular affiliate programs  is that you get paid a one time sum for the sale you produce and eventually you tend to run out of customers, so you have to quickly move to to another affiliate program to keep trying to make a monthly wage. Especially true if you  marketing relies on your subscriber list. That is a subject all on it own!

But with a residual income affiliate program you get customers to sign up and they use the merchants service for say  6mths you get paid a percentage of the sale for 6 mths.  Not alot but considering if that the customer stays for 6 mths, you just made $60 from that customer, not just the initial $10 sale,  and the best thing is services like these are normally for necessities. Every website must have web hosting right? You can work as the web hostings affiliate.

When I started out with marketing programs I was paid in one lump sums, and while the money was good, I was working way  way too hard. Now instead of promoting 30 to 40 one sale affiliate programs, I promote 5 to 10 monthly programs instead,  on a few sites that have multiple affiliate programs.

I recently picked up a copy of Justin Michie’s Traffic Tips Report (Free for a limited time from here). Let’s face it, getting traffic to your website or blog is a never ending challenge. The lecture was a call to his students and colleagues to go on without him and do great things and was delivered at Carnegie Mellon on Sept. 18, 2007, a few weeks after Pausch learned he had just months to live.

 Pausch earned his undergraduate degree in computer science at Brown University in 1982 and his Ph.D. in computer science at Carnegie Mellon in 1988. Before joining the Carnegie Mellon faculty in 1997, he served on the computer science faculty at the University of Virginia from 1988 to 1997 and spent a 1995 sabbatical working at Walt Disney Imagineering’s Virtual Reality Studio.

A fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), he is the recipient of the ACM’s Karl V. Karlstrom Outstanding Educator Award. Also the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Computer Science Education from the ACM’s Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education (SIGCSE). Randy Pausch authored or co-authored five books and more than 60 reviewed journal and conference articles.

Randy was  the father of three young children,  he saw it as his mission to help enable the dreams of his students. “If you lead your life the right way, the karma will take care of itself,” Pausch said. “The dreams will come to you. Also, the brick walls are there for a reason, just how badly do you want something? It’s not just how to be successful, its how to lead your life.” He said he didn’t make the Last Lecture for you, he did it for his  young children.

Died July 23rd, 2008 at age 47.

Pausch is survived by his wife, Jai, and their tree children, Dylan, Logan and Chloe. Also surving are this mother Virginia Pausch of Columbia, Md and a sister Tamara Mason’of Lynchburg, Va. The family plans a private bural in Virginia A campus memorial service is being planned.

He will be missed by all that knew him, a spectacular human being. I am sad to hear of his death. God Bless him and his family.
